A Warm Welcome to Chosen Hill Sixth Form from Mrs J Henry, Director of Sixth Form

Chosen Hill Sixth Form is a thriving, popular and distinctive part of the wider school community.  Our vision in the Sixth Form is to provide students with a love of learning in a challenging academic environment and the skills, knowledge and determination needed for any future destination. At the centre of this is access to a broad range of academic and vocational subjects which continue to be developed with personalisation at the forefront of our curriculum decisions. There is also an intangible quality that the students refer to with great pride as the ‘Spirit of Chosen Hill.’

Chosen Hill is an excellent choice for Sixth Form education. All staff are supportive and inspiring in helping individuals to realise and exceed their potential, maintaining the highest standards and many well-loved traditions. A strong and experienced specialist mentoring team meet with students regularly to monitor progress, offer support and advice and celebrate successes. Every year on examination results day we are delighted to see all students rewarded with progression to university, further education or employment.

The Sixth Form community is a vibrant and welcoming place to study. New students in particular settle quickly into life at Chosen Hill and integrate well with current students. Sixth Formers enjoy great individual and team success in many sporting, music, creative and performing arts activities. Student voice is exemplified in active leadership roles such as Head Students, House Captain, Senior Prefect or School Council. They work effectively on committees making a real difference across the school and in the wider community and managing the planning and delivering of events such as the always much-anticipated Valedictory Ball and Christmas Dinner functions. 

Whether you are mentoring Year 7 students, producing the school magazine, performing with the drama group or creating the exciting, long-standing tradition that is House Music, as part of our Sixth Form you will be at the very heart of Chosen Hill School.

Our high results dictate that you must be ready and willing to give total commitment to achieving the very best that you can. We will provide both challenge and support towards these goals, with resilience being a key characteristic we promote in the transition from GCSE to A Level. Dedicated, purpose built Sixth Form study facilities combined with timetabled Directed Study time in addition to superb, positive collaborative working within subject areas allow students to take greater responsibility for their own learning.
