Chosen Hill School is a successful Academy located in the rural environment of Churchdown, halfway between Gloucester and Cheltenham. Chosen Hill School opened in 1959 and became an Academy Trust in 2011.  There are close to 1400 students in the school including a popular and expanding Sixth Form.

With a whole school emphasis on enabling students to develop a growth mindset, we aim to encourage students to embrace challenge and develop intrinsic motivation and ensure the key learning behaviours of resilience, resourcefulness, taking responsibility and reflection are honed as they progress on that journey.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational teacher to join our well-established Design Technology Department.

We have a strong uptake of Design and Technology at KS4 and KS5, giving us the opportunity to expand the department by finding another teacher with the ability to teach across the full range of relevant subject areas. Experience with electronics and multi materials would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the on-going journey of the department working with ambitious and aspirational staff.

The role is full time, but we would consider a reduced timetable for the right candidate.

Student and Families Welfare Officer and Deputy DSL

HOURS: Full time, 37 hours per week, term time plus 10 days DEADLINE 15 Aug 22
To start as soon as possible

We are looking to appoint an inspirational person as our Student and Families Welfare Officer to work alongside teaching staff, parents and students to formulate a package of support for students in our vulnerable groups to help achieve their potential. The person will also deputise for our Safeguarding Lead and will therefore play an important role in the safeguarding of children in our school.

The successful candidate will have:

· Good written and verbal communication skills;

· Previous experience of working with multi agencies.

· Be qualified or willing to undertake DSL Level 3 training

· The ability to build good working relationships with parents/carers and students.

IT/AV Technician

To start as soon as possible

Full time 37 hours per week – All Year Round

Grade 4 Point 6-8 £20,043 – £20,852

We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated IT technician to give support to the IT Manager and the whole school network in the day to day management, of the school’s ICT infrastructure. Duties are varied and the successful candidate will need to be proactive, use initiative and respond calmly to a wide range of challenges that a busy school environment produces.

Chosen Hill is well resourced and depends upon the use of ICT to support effective whole school leadership and management and fundamentally, to support engaging and challenge teaching and learning in the classroom. Providing a first class, efficient and effective ICT support service must be a key priority for the successful candidate.

Whilst experience in an education setting would be useful, it is not essential. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ICT experience, resilience, and organisational skills. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a positive approach to working effectively with all members of the school community.
