Finance Education

At Chosen Hill we endeavour to provide students with as much finance education at times, however there will inevitably be topics that students want to revisit or have missed due to absence or school closures and so we recommend the following websites to support your child in learning more.

For students in key stages 3 and 4 we recommend the Barclays Life Skills money pages for young people which help them to plan ahead and avoid bad money habits. These pages include help and advice with phishing and online fraud, bank accounts and saving, budgeting, payslips and borrowing.

For students in years 11 to 13 who are leaving school for college or apprenticeships and may be leaving home for the first time, we recommend the Managing my money for young adults course offered free by the Open University and presented by Bobby Seagull. This course will teach students how to choose and manage bank accounts, finance further and higher education studies, budget through different stages of their lives, borrow sensibly, manage debts and plan ahead.

The Open University also offers a similar course called Managing my money for adults who wish to learn more and improve their financial skills.
