For entrance in to Year 7 in September 2025 please see below a reminder of some key dates.

September 2025 admissions timetable

From noon 20 May 2024 to noon 28th June 2024 Online registration period for Grammar Entrance Test
September 2024 Letters sent out explaining how to apply for school spaces
3rd September 2024 Online application facility opens
14th September 2024 Grammar School Entrance Test Day
Prior 31st October 2024 Grammar School Test results sent out - all results will be sent to parents/carers by the schools, this team does not have access to the results so please direct all queries to the schools
31st October 2024 (midnight) Closing date for school applications
TBC Late Grammar School Entrance Test Day
3rd March 2025 Allocation day and parents/carers will receive the results of the late grammar school entrance test from the grammar schools directly
10th March 2025 (midnight) Closing date to return reply form accepting the school place
After 28th March 2025 Outcome of waiting list requests sent out
2nd April 2025 Closing date for waiting list round responses
May to July 2025 Appeals


Appeals

Parents/Carers whose application has been unsuccessful have the right to appeal to an independent Appeals Panel.  Appeals will be conducted in accordance with the Code of Practice for Schools Admissions Appeals.

Parents/Carers whose appeal has been unsuccessful may only apply for a further appeal in the same academic year if there has been a significant or material change in their circumstances.

If you wish to appeal for a Year 7 place at Chosen Hill School for entrance in September 2025, please email admissions@chosen-hill.gloucs.sch.uk for further information.  Please only do this once the second round of allocations has been issued by the Local Authority (end of March).

  • The deadline for returning the completed appeal form will be 2nd May 2025.

  • Year 7 appeal hearings will take place the week beginning 2nd June 2025.

  • Parents will be informed of the hearing arrangements two weeks before.

In-year Applications

Any applications for places outside the normal admissions rounds must be made directly to the school using the in-year application form that can be found below.

Completed in-year application forms along with *proof of your address and **proof of age for your child should be submitted to admissions@chosen-hill.gloucs.sch.uk.  You will be notified of the outcome of your in-year application within 15 school days.

*Please note - we can only accept a copy of a utility bill or council tax bill as proof of your address.

**Please note - we can only accept a copy of your child's birth certificate or passport as proof of age.
